Typical applications: ACID-PROOF for POLISHED SURFACES™ is suitable for a wide variety of applications, including indoor and outdoor use on kitchen counter tops and floors, bathrooms, dining rooms and entertaining, public and commercial areas.
Benefits: ACID-PROOF for POLISHED SURFACES™ is able to make surfaces become acid resistant; repel stains and food products – making cleaning easier; retain a natural look; suitable for indoor and outdoor use; highly water vapour permeable – able to breathe so there is no build-up of subsurface moisture, allowing it to dry out; stands up to weather and traffic; very alkali resistant – won’t break down in contact with cement based materials, and able to reduce the risk of slipping when surface is wet.
Application rate: Supplied in a ready-to-use container the total application rate is approximately one litre can per twenty to 30 sq. metres (20 to 30 sq. feet per quart) depending on surface absorption.
How to use:
1. ALWAYS TEST PRODUCT ON A SMALL AREA FIRST and allow a 24-hour cure time to determine the ease of application and desired results.2. Ensure surfaces to be treated are dry, clean and free of residues.
3. Do not thin product.
4. Work one area at a time, generously saturating the surface with ACID-PROOF for POLISHED SURFACES™. Avoid contact with surrounding areas. 5. Using a staining pad, or similar, evenly spread the ACID-PROOF for POLISHED SURFACES™ over the surface. Total application rate is approximately 1 litre per 20 to 30 sq.m. (1 quart per 200 to 300 sq.ft.). One coat is usually sufficent for most surfaces. However, if additional protection is required, continue to repeat Steps 4 and 5, waiting a minimum of 72 hours between coats.
6. Use an organic solvent e.g. IPA for clean up.7. Avoid moisture, dust and all physical contact with the surface for a minimum of 24 hours after application. Product takes 24 to 72 hours to fully cure, depending on surface temperature.8. Sealer will NOT prevent surface scratching, or etching from strong acids or acidic liquids left on the treated surface for long periods of time. Acidic substances should be wiped from the surface as quickly as possible. ACID-PROOF for POLISHED SURFACES™ may alter the colour, level of gloss and texture of some surfaces. Once cured, this product is food contact safe.
9. For daily maintenance use a neutral pH detergent in warm water and a soft cloth to wash down the treated surface.
Precautions: Do not take internally. Apply when surface temperature is between 5 - 35°C (40 - 95°F). Avoid moisture and physical contact with the surface for 24 hours after application. Protect surrounding areas from over-spray. Keep away from drains, plants, water and soil. Use only in well ventilated areas. Use a positive pressure respirator if ventilation is inadequate. Wear suitable solvent resistant gloves, protective clothing, safety goggles and an organic vapour respirator during application. Avoid applying in windy conditions. Wash hands thoroughly after applying.
Active content: A 30 per cent active content in low molecule weighted solvents.
